About Me

Welcome to my website.

I’m Bren Gordon, and I’m thrilled to share a bit about my journey as an artist. I was born in South Africa and moved to Australia 27 years ago with my family. I have been creating art for as long as I can remember. I’ve always turned to creativity as my main outlet, using it to process and express my experiences. Art has been my refuge through many ups and downs—a vibrant escape filled with color and, honestly, a bit of delightful chaos! I studied art with the Milan Art Institute, which helped me refine my style and deepen my artistic voice.

I’ve got a real passion for street and contemporary art, which heavily influences my work. I focus on painting women, and for me, it’s more than just a subject; it’s a way to explore identity and the various masks we wear in our everyday lives. I find it fascinating how each woman represents a story—often reflecting my own experiences and the shared narratives of many. We all have these inner critics whispering in our ears. I’ve come to realize how that critical voice can really hold us back from living our lives fully.

It’s something I grapple with personally, and it definitely shows up in my art. I’ve also had the opportunity to run workshops that dive into this theme of the inner critic and its impact on creativity. It’s been such a rewarding experience to help others explore how they can break free from that self-doubt. I’ve even been interviewed on the radio about this topic, sharing insights on how art can be a powerful tool for overcoming those inner barriers.

Each piece I create feels like its own story, evolving naturally as I work on it. I love how they come to life, often surprising me in the process! My creative method is all about layering—building depth and texture with different mediums like paper, inks, spray paint, and acrylics. I seal everything with oils to give my pieces that extra richness. There’s something magical about watching a piece transform, almost like it has its own heartbeat.

At the end of the day, my art is a celebration of women’s stories. I aim to encourage others to embrace their narratives and recognize the beauty in imperfection. I truly believe that by sharing our experiences, we can foster connection and understanding.

So, welcome to my world of art—I can’t wait to share these stories with you!
